Fuel Installation Technician

Our Installation Technicians are responsible for the installation of retail petroleum systems and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation of underground and above ground petroleum systems.

Overseeing the installation of electronic systems and other construction works to ensure the complete installation of retail fuel service centres.

Minor installation and calibration of equipment and systems.

Supporting the Directing Installer with general construction tasks including warehouse, equipment and site preparation, general construction duties, liaising with external contractors and supporting where necessary, clean-up of site and transportation of tools and equipment.

Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.

Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections.

Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the well-being of others.
Working Conditions

Out of area travel may be required.

Overtime as required.

Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and fumes.

Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 20kg on a regular basis.

Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.

Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.

Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Essential Criteria
-
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fuel system installation role
-
Ability to supervise a small team and oversee contractors
-
Ability to read installation diagrams and CAD drawings
-
Construction, technical and mechanical knowledge and skills
-
Skilled use of specialised construction equipment, power and hand tools
-
Practical problem solving and diagnostic skills
-
Focus on quality workmanship and efficiency
-
Communications skills with all levels of stakeholders
-
Commitment to WHS
-
MR truck licence
-
Skills in excavation and plumbing experience would be highly regarded
Must be accountable, have strong work ethic, have a commitment to the customer's objective and work efficiently.
